Customer Comments: This rocks!!!!!!!!!!!! It has each game cd. It is not just one cd with all of them. In mine halo 1 was the platinum hits version and halo 2 and the map pack are regular. I play this on my xbox 360(yes I have one) and it runs great on xbox live and story mode. If you dont have any halo games get this!!!! I don't have my own account on Amazon.com, so I can't use a review where I type in my name and password. But you are probably wondering why I am writing this now. Well, I'm at my public library, and I'm using their computer, so I have to make this review quick. I have an XBOX only because my cousin gave it to me. He is rich. He invented the Toaster Strudel. This is no joke. His name is Raphael. Anyway, Halo is a fun game. It is the best and only game I've ever played. I love it more than I would love to own a pair of shoes and have running water at my house. Uh oh, the main lady at the library is telling me my time's up. So in conclusion, buy this game. It rocks out loud!! Ta ta for now!! I rarely write reviews to personally address other reviews of a product, as you would notice if you were to read a few of them. However, I feel the whiny personal complaints and nitpicking here warrant a counterattack. First off, maybe Halo CE is better than Halo 2 if you like unbalanced weapons and running through the same levels a second time - backwards. But personally I prefer more variety and depth in my games. That's not to say that Halo CE isn't a great game. At the end of this review, where I actually make my recommendations, you will see that I in fact have lots of praise for it. However, many people cling to sentimentality and familiarity. Maybe Halo CE's campaign was revolutionary in some ways, but Halo 2's is clearly an improvement. I refuse to be blinded by my bias towards whatever came first; Halo 2 enriches the Halo universe and it's storyline significantly. Halo CE by comparison is a relatively simple and typical FPS storyline: 'shoot to survive.' As far as the Arbiter, I'm sorry if you prefer to draw nice easy to read lines between good and evil, but I personally am intrigued by the idea of playing from and learning about both sides. Also, at least the Arbiter has some attitude - I can only take so much of the Master Chief's cheesey one-liners. And in the end, all I can suggest is that you stuff your big opinions and just enjoy two games that are both incredibly well made (I can't think of any better reason to buy an xbox than these two games, with the possible exception of Morrowind.) This pack is a great opportunity for people that didnt catch all these games the first time around. In addition to Halo CE and Halo 2, it comes packaged with the Multiplayer Map Pack. I have written an extensive review of this product on its own but rest assured it was almost all positive. So it is certainly no reason NOT to buy this product if you dont already own these three items. |

Description:Halo 2 is one of those rare video games that garnishes attention from regular folk who wouldn't know which direction to point a game controller. With more than 1.5 million pre-orders and a massive release party in Times Square, the game enjoys the sort of buzz, and sales, generally reserved for boy wizards. But does it merit the hype? Opening Scene Halo 2 opens with a cut scene in the Covenant Holy City of High Charity. Much has happened since Master Chief (that's you) created so much havoc for the Covenant in the first Halo, and the Arbiter has much atoning to do for his failures. This first cut scene is long, but the lush graphics, orchestral sound, and polished voice talent for both this and other cut scenes as well as the game itself put most animated television shows to shame.
In the end, though, Halo 2 is unabashedly a first-person shooter. It has a Mature rating and is not meant for kids. Gameplay is constant and intense. No sooner is one bunch of aliens taken care of than another descends. The controls are identical to the first game so those familiar with it will be up and blasting in no time. And the sound and graphics have been beefed up so that Halo 2 is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful console games available. Opening Fire Most of the weapons from the first game return, although strangely the MA5B Assault Rifle (the default weapon in the first game) is not available. There is a single melee weapon known as the Covenant Sword, but the controls for it are the same as that for all the shooter weapons, making it difficult to direct. Also, for a new twist, you can hold two of the smaller guns at the same time and shoot double-fisted. As for vehicles, the old favorites are back and joined by a few new, mostly Covenant wheeled monsters. Some improvements have been made to the AI so that the nonplayer characters can drive without running into too many obstacles while you man the turret. This improved AI also has enemies ducking for cover, and the banter from both the Marines and the bad guys has undergone massive improvements so that it no longer sounds quite so repetitive. On Your Own The most significant change in the single-player game is with Master Chief's much-touted defensive suit. At the beginning of the game, he is told that the suit has been upgraded, but it's really undergone a severe downgrade. In Halo 2 Cheat game happy mall story. , the player has only one lifeline. Unlike in the first game, there is basically no defensive shield on the suit, making gameplay tougher. It can often take multiple--sometimes a maddening number--attempts to make it through thorny parts of the game.
Finally, no review of a Halo game is complete without mentioning multiplayer. One of the main reasons to buy Halo 2 is the ability to play through Xbox Live, a feature not included in the first game, which was among the original releases for the Xbox. Multiplayer for Halo 2 uses all of the same weapons and vehicles as in the single-player game, and the types of games available in Halo (King of the Hill, Slayer, Capture the Flag) return with a host of new maps. Multiplayer Halo 2 offers customizable profiles, control layout, and screens as well as a voice proximity feature, where you can talk with other players via an Xbox Communicator so that those closer to you sound louder than those farther away. Players can also create both permanent clans and temporary parties in the Xbox Live world. Undoubtedly, this multiplayer feature alone ensures that Halo 2 will remain a top-selling game for years to come. --David Morel Pros:

Customer Comments: Halo 2 Review Halo 2, the sequel to the widely praised shooter and the best-selling game, the original Halo is out. But is in any good? Yes, because what this excellent game combines is the great visuals, compelling game play, and riveting sound effects all in one great package. One reason why the Halo series is one of the most popular shooting games is that the richly detailed environments make it one of the best seen on today's X-Box. The reason for this is the explosion, character models, environment; ect makes you feel like you are at the war scene, giving memorable battles. Another major highlight of Halo 2 is its action packed game play. The realistic feel of shooting piercing bullets at your foes, and later flanking them with powerful grenades, to your enemies challenging artificial intelligence. The enemies AI is a distinguishing contribution that makes it different from other shooters. In addition to the intense, hostile-like shooting, mind boggling tactics are formed to defeat the enemy Coneveant. These tactics could lead to driving the incredibly fun and diverse vehicles from flying mini ships to large tanks. Other tactics involved with the deep game play are dual wielding two different weapons, melee attacks, vehicle hijacking, and much more. Sound and audio throughout the game give it the epic feel and realism that tops of Halo's package. The sound effects while on battle are incredibly detailed as every gunshot is heard, every grunt, environmental sounds plus a lot more adding to the sheer quality of the game. The background music by Martin O'Donnell is top-notch, the inspiring music pops in the game just at the right moments not only making them memorable but fantastic as it plays it just a the right moment. As always the professional voice acting is prominent in Halo 2. The voices heard sound absolutely real to its counter part, from the dark voice of Master Chief to the wailing Grunts. What sums off Halo 2 for most gamers and fans of the series is it exciting multiplayer. When you have friends you can relive Master Chief's epic battles with the two player cooperative modes, or have your friends play against each other with its very popular multiplayer modes. One of the great implication to this edition of Halo is it X-Box live support, allowing you to play against people around the world. This adds to the lasting value of Halo as its single player is a quite short compared to other games. With all these good points about Halo 2 it is hard to believe that this game is not perfect, but like any other game it has very few flaws. One of which is the kind of short story which leads many fans wanting more action. Probably by far the biggest disappointment is the end of the game which leads players begging for more on the story as cliff hanger ending some what disappoints. Despite a rather short campaign and a disappointing storyline, Halo 2 is an exceptional shooter that frequently delivers thrilling, memorable, and unique moments in its online, multiplayer, and single-player modes. Depending on what you most want from the game, you may find that Halo 2 leaves you desperate for another installment in the series, but there is enough lasting value in the highly replay able missions, its online play, and great multiplayer. if u give this game anything but 5 stars then u r a complete retard and i hate u. the truth is that this should be released worldwide, be made game of the year, be named the greatest xbox game ever (or even the best video game ever) and have over one hundred million copies sold by the time halo 3 comes out. it's got great graphics to say the least and possibly the best graphics i have ever seen. when u shoot at the wall it makes bullet marks, when u fire a sniper rifle it leaves a streak of smoke behind where the bullet was.the sounds are so realistic, i probably could figure out the difference between the sound of a real gunshot and a firework or something like that after playing this game. i could probably even tell what kind of gun it is. the controlls are eazy especially since they are very customizable and will be very farmilar to those fps (first person shooter) fans even if they arent diehard fps fans. i havent gotten a glitch in my game yet and ive been playing halo 2 forever. all of those halo 1 fans that havent played halo 2 will love it even more the first. people that are new to the fps games will like this game, even people who hate most fps games will love this. im only 11 so if u are younger then 18 then u can break the mature rating. it costed me 50 bucks for halo 2 and i wouldve payed 100 so 30 bucks is so worth it. the question that i'm asking you is y are u reading reviews when u can be playing it. if u have any questions or comments then please e-mail me at[..] There are few games that get as much hype as Halo 2 ever did. Heck, some game systems don't even get as much hype as Halo 2 got. I remember seeing a line of people camped out of various stores in my area, 5 hours before they even closed, just so they could be there at midnight, or the next morning, to snatch their copies right away. Some of them brought tvs and their Xbox systems and played Halo's multiplayer while waiting. It was sad. Then, the game came out, and sold more than anyone expected. Heck, the game could've been released as a Platinum Hit, as it had well over one million pre-orders alone. While most people love Halo for the multiplayer, there was something very wrong that many reviewers didn't see past- the single player mode completely sucked. Level designs were poor, the game held your hand and told you what to do after each mission was completed, enemy designs were still lame, and many promises that Bungie made didn't make it. Remember hearing about how Master Chief could sprint now? That was scrapped. But I don't see what big of a difference that would've made. You may as well have said he can jump 2 feet higher now too. But, something else that 'betrayed' gamers, was that Halo 2 pulled a Metal Gear Solid 2. While the commercials and even the game's box makes it sound like you're playing as Master Chief the whole time on Earth, defending the planet against the Covenant, that's only partially true. Halo 2 picks up a little bit after the first one ended. Master Chief's back in action, and fronts the war against the Covenant on Earth in the country of Africa. The battle takes place in a now destroyed city (for the most part), and there's havoc about. Giant mech spiders walking around blowing stuff up, new types of Covenant, new weapons to deal with, and more. After you bulldoze through the first portion of the game, you'll learn something that no one expected- there's a second character to play as, and it's one of the Covenant. Apparently, there was ONE Covenant in charge of taking out Master Chief with an entire army at his disposal. We all know what happened with that by now, and it didn't fly with the Prophets (seemingly the highest ranking Covenant), and he's tortured. But in the end, he's used as the new Arbiter, and will restore glory to the Covenant. This, is the guy you play as for half the game. Switching between him and Master Chief every other level. Blah blah blah the Flood's back for more, blah blah someone's daughter is taken away blah blah, there's a traitor amongst the Covenant, blah blah join forces..yeah, there's a lot to the plot, but a lot of it seems like Bungie was going, 'hey, I have an idea' and then the rest go, 'sure, we'll use it, even if you only said 5 words there'. But, I suppose it's good to get a FPS with some effort put into the plot, no? There's not much to the single player mode. The newest, and most talked about feature/addition was being able to dual-weild: something that's been done in games before this one. I don't know what the big fuss was about. Sure, it's nice, but there aren't that many times when you'll really need two Needlers or pistols at once. The flashlight is now no longer manually operated- it shuts off when 'it doesn't need to be used' according to some. I say it's lazy programming. The first few levels also tell you to watch out when your health meter is low, as if you couldn't tell without that. As Arbiter, you can go invisible..for about 10 seconds, making him seem like a total chump when you're hit and the invisibility goes away until it recharges for another use. Hijacking vehicles is kind of cool, but risky. Also, vehicles now take damage, but can STILL BE USED as long as you're alive in them. How about not being able to drive a Warthog after it's been blasted a few times by plasma cannons? My last gripe for the main game/overall game is that there's a completely useless 'extra first person' mode when you click in the right thumb stick. This sets the camera inside of your character's helmet. But..isn't this a first person shooter, meaning that the view is already your own? What's the point of, and how can, you see even more with that? I don't get it, and it hurts my head thinking about it. But what you're all wondering about is how the multiplayer is- the main reason people play Halo. Well, this game came out almost 2 years ago, and the online following is just as strong as it was then. You can customize matches to your heart's content. It's almost silly as to how much you can customize. Some stages from the first Halo return, and there are even more to select when/if you get the Halo 2 Map Pack. On Xbox Live, there are people that dedicate all their free time to this game, so watch out. If you saw True Life: I'm a Competitive Gamer, you'll see that some companies pay the big dogs to win tournaments. That's how big the following is for Halo 2's multiplayer. Disregarding the weakness of the main game, if you buy Halo 2 for the multiplayer and not the single player mode, you won't be disappointed. When the game came out, it was supposed to be the best looking game on any system. It wasn't. There were tons of pop-in textures that plagued cut scenes and during gameplay. But character models are in high resolution, have better textures, and some of the lighting is very good. The action almost never causes a drop in the 30 frames per second animation either. However, some levels look pretty weak- the last one in particular. The trees in that level look like mid-PSone life span quality. As for the audio, it's insanely good. Voice acting is average to good, sound effects are great, the explosions rock your speakers, and the music is well-heard. This -is- Dolby 5.1 as far as I'm concerned. While this could warrant another review for the other version of Halo 2, you're better off buying the basic version unless both cost the same. The limited edition (which isn't so limited, since it's still in stock on here, 2 years later) comes in an easily-dented case, has an extra Covenant instruction/mission book, and an extra disc that goes over the making of the game, and could be seen as an apology by Bungie. They go on about how late they were on deadlines, how much people expected from them, and how the E3 demo level was basically just something to give the people while they struggled with making the game. I felt bad for those guys after watching it. As you can tell by the review, and the rating, I'm no Xbox/Halo fanboy. I liked the first game ('gave it a 4/5), and loved the story. Here, everything just seems like a step back, aside from the multiplayer. I mean, when every level's rooms look the same and you're walking in circles for 10 minutes, it makes you wonder how much they shelled out for a decent mapping programer. Here's hoping that Halo 3 takes the good from the previous two games, and doesn't make the same mistakes as Halo 2 did. And hey, maybe it'll have an ending! |

Customer Comments: Well, it's been about a year and a half since our beloved game came out, and it's been about half a year since this 'expansion' came out. I believe this is a total ripoff unless you do not have Xbox Live. ALL of these maps are currently FREE on Xbox Live. No fees. Yes, all nine maps. Free. This is also a rip with our new friend: 'The Halo Triple Pack' which includes this disc. The pack is $50, but you can buy Halo 2 for $20, Halo: CE for $10 at the most, and these maps are free on Live. I just don't get why this is still as much as it is. You'd think that one would use these maps more on Xbox Live, but they're free there, so why buy this at all? To give Bungie and Microsoft spare change. Bottom line: These maps are available free. Why buy them for $20? I love the new maps and I am fortunate to get them because i dont have live. As mentioned in the title only buy it if you dont have live. People who do can download it for free just to help anyone who is confused. I bought this disc barely a week after it came out, and if I was impressed then, I am really impressed now. Why? This little wonder retains its value. I initally only liked Turf and Warlock, as my wife and I did not have XBox Live at the time, and most of these maps are designed for HUGE battles, especially Relic and Containment. I still groan when some maps come up (Gemini and Backwash, for example), but this is a matter of personal preference. Overall, these map great enhance and expand the already-perfect Halo 2 Online experience. Get it. |

Customer Comments: This microphone is so comfortable, I forget I have it on sometimes. I mistakenly wear it even if I'm not playing an online game. If the over the head type microphones bother you alot, then you want this microphone. It is also good for people with glasses as it won't knock them out of place. I wear glasses and the regular xbox live mic always messed my glasses up. With the Halo 2 headset, it does not bother with my glasses at all. Consider this microphone if you are bothered with the regular Xbox Live headset. This Plantronics GameCom Halo 2 Edition Xbox Headset was not much better than the original headset that comes with the XboxLive box you can order. The product was givin good reviews, at least until i got it. Maybe its just me, but it seems to have enough ear accessories and it looks great. But when you try to put it on, it takes a few seconds. The earpiece doesn't fit very well in my ear, even though it came with 4 adapters, none seem to be comfortable and work properly. I wouldn't recommend this product. The only reason i bought it was the original headset was build poorly and it broke. This product was built much more sturdy, and has many adjustments; but i still am baffled by how this product doesn't live up to its full potential. I don't think this review will change anybodys minds who reads this, but make sure you know what you're getting into paying for a $35-$55 device. This headset is probably the best xbox live recommended headset to date. Everything on the earpiece is adjustable to fit every size of ear. The big xbox live headsets are uncomfortable and begin to hurt after about a half hours use. Wearing the Halo 2 headset i actually forgot that I was even wearing it because it is so light. They have just released a new version of this headset that also comes the communicator with no difference in price. I greatly recommend this headset to anyone that plays xbox live on a regular basis. |
