Sims 3 Save Game Cheat
Turns out there was no savegame in my default sims 3 folder (under “my documents”). I use any game starter 3, so my savegames are stored somewhere else and save cleaner couldn’t detect them. So I just copied the savegames into the default sims 3 savegame folder and then save cleaner was able to find and clean them. I've been playing Sims 3 a lot recently and I've always been able to save and play, then when I'm done save and quit. But, my recent saves take extremely long and I always just end up ending the Sims and turning off my computer. I've never left my computer on long enough to see if it actually saves.
Save the game once they're moved in, then head back to the main menu. Before you load your Sims 3 saved game again, open the cheat console (Control + Shift + C) and type testingcheatsenabled true. Once you load your Sims game, the testing cheats will still be on. Hint: When you are in the Cameraman mode (by pressing Tab), while your game is paused, you can notice a red line at the borders of your screen and also a red button at the right corner of the top of your screen, (that’s how your game shows you that it’s in pause) and you may do not like to see it. Press then F10 button to remove it.
Here are three methods of recovering a corrupt town on The Sims 3. Cara cheat game zombie diary 2. If you have the World Adventures expansion pack installed, use methods 2 or 3. If not, use method 1. Throughout this guide, it is assumed that your sim lives in Sunset Valley. At the end I also include a trick to prevent your town from being corrupted again.
The Sims 3 was a buggy game. Sims in your world can get stuck in a lot of different ways and many game mechanics can become corrupt really fast after there are enough Sims in your town, and the game becomes unable to handle all of that after some time and this causes significant lag. The Sims 3 Console Games Warning: This will disable Challenges and Trophies/Achievements, please make a backup save if you want to use cheats. Sims 3 Save Game Cheats
1. Use the backup file
The first thing you can do is use the backup file that the game periodically creates. How old this file is depends on how often you save the game, but it is not usually older than a couple of days.
First enter your Sims 3 Saves folder. This is located at (My) DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe sims 3Saves
. You should see two files called Sunset Valley.sims3
and Sunset Valley.sims3.backup
. First move the Sunset Valley.sims3
file to a safe location. Then rename Sunset Valley.sims.3.backup
to Sunset Valley.sims3
(remove the .backup
part) Now try loading your save game. If it doesn’t load restart your computer. If it still doesn’t work after restarting, check the file size. If it is less than 3 MB, the game is irreversibly corrupted
2. Use the legacy file (only if you have World Adventures)
This method uses the legacy file created when World Adventures was installed. (This file isn’t always created, and if it is, will date back to when you installed World Adventures. If you can’t or don’t want to follow this method, please skip to the next one.)
Enter your Sims 3 Saves folder ((My) DocumentsElectronic ArtsThe sims 3Saves
). Backup the folder called Sunset Valley.sims3
to a safe location. Now rename the Sunset Valley.sims3.legacy
file to Sunset Valley.sims3
. If this doesn’t work, restore the old Sunset Valley.sims3
folder and continue to the next method.
3. Replace the meta files (World Adventures only)
Cheats For Sims 3 Ps3
Inside your Sunset Valley.sims3
folder, there should be three files called 1a5tf1l3.dat, Meta.data and TravelDB.package. These are the meta data files. They contain the information the game needs to load your town and are usually the ones causing the problem. Luckily, they can be safely replaced without loosing anything. The other files are the world data for your town and each of the travel destinations you have visited (i.e. the important ones). We won’t touch these.
First, we need to create replacement files. Create a new town on The Sims 3, create a sim, and move him in. If you traveled to a holiday destination (Egypt, France or China) on your corrupted save game, travel to that same destination on this one using your temporary sim’s mobile phone. (If you don’t have enough simoleons to travel, open the cheat window (CTRL+SHIFT+C), type motherlode
and press enter. §50,000 will automatically be added to your account.) Now save your game, being careful not to overwrite the old one. Exit The Sims and go to your Saves folder. Make a backup copy of your corrupted game, open the new game you just created, and copy the meta data files to your corrupted game’s folder, overwriting the existing ones. Now restart your computer. Your game should now work, with all your progress, skills, wishes, lifetime rewards, relics, visa points, etc. still intact. (Don’t worry about the name of your temporary household appearing on the select a town menu, the game automatically corrects this once you save the newly repaired game.)

Stop the town becoming corrupted again
There is a very simple way to stop your town from being corrupted again. When you save your game, instead of clicking Save, click Save As, and call it Sunset Valley. Then click Save As again, and save it as Sunset Valley2, for example. Then, if the active one (the second one you saved) becomes corrupted, because there is a power cut or the game crashes while playing, you can just load the other one.
